Comprehensive Physical Examination

Why is it important for my pet?
Faithful attention to your pet's regular physical examinations is the most effective step you can take to assure your faithful companion will be with you for many happy years. Veterinary medicine had progressed to a level of sophistication that gives us the opportunity to prevent many diseases that used to cause a deterioration in the quality of your pet's life, as well as an early death from those same diseases. In addition to the standard diseases we vaccinate for, we are now able to prevent heartworm disease, many types of disease caused by other internal and external parasites, diseases brought on by malnutrition, and "over-nutrition." We are able to manage and aleviate the signs of arthritis, heart and kidney disease, and diabetes.
The comprehensive physical exam is the primary means of detecting and identifying any problems or potential problems your pet may be facing. It will be tailored for your pet based on his age, weight and any prior medical problems. Your pet's doctor will check his eyes, ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, joints and abdominal organs. Be sure to mention any concerns you have. Depending on your pet's age a physical exam might also include radiographs, ECG, urinalysis and blood testing.
