Hello from all of us at Taylor Veterinary Hospital in Cedar Falls! It is an exciting time as we are gearing up for another season of GO FETCH FITNESS!
Just a reminder, GO FETCH FITNESS, is a six-week adventure where teams of people and their pets follow an education and fitness program designed by Dr. Bixby. A book called Fitness Unleashed, by Marty Becker, D.V.M. and Robert Kushner, M.D, inspired the program. The teams meet three times a week for six weeks to discuss topics about human and veterinary health, have weekly weigh-ins and most importantly, walk and visit together with other folks who place their health and their pet’s as top priority!
We are again partnering with the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County and Hill’s Pet Nutrition. There will be lots of excellent quality Hill’s Pet Nutrition dog food given to the teams who prove the most fit through their weight loss efforts at the end of each program.
Economic times being what they are, GO FETCH FITNESS is a great way to relieve stress, stay connected with friends as well as make some new ones, and to stay well for minimal cost. Even when money is tight for so many, we all want to take care of our pet’s health, but as owners, we must be healthy to do that. GO FETCH FITNESS is a program intended to care for the whole dog, the whole person and the relationship between the two.
We are really looking forward to seeing all of our old GO FETCH FITNESS friends from last spring and making new friends in 2010. It’s time to show your pup how much you care and GO FETCH FITNESS. So…
Grab your leash and dust off your sneakers
We’re looking for some real thrill seekers.
Go find your pal and look him straight in the eye.
“Are ya ready boy?” Sure, you know the reply!
With a leap and a shake, he heads straight for the door.
This whole winter thing has been such a bore!
From the very first day, he’ll be your first mate.
He’ll stay on the voyage even if you negate.
Your dog is your champion, your number one fan,
Sloppy kisses and belly rubs are just part of his plan.
Aside from sniffing and chasing, he has one job to do
Walk thousands of steps to extend time with you.
Help your dog do what he loves and enjoy the opportunity to get healthy together.
