Madeline - Kennel Assistant since 2016 - I am a Cedar Falls native and wouldn't want it any other way. Growing up, my family always had furry family members. Taylor Veterinary Hospital had always been our clinic of choice for our pets and will always be. When the opportunity to join the amazing staff came about, I couldn't resist! My love for animals began with Rosie, my first family dog. My parents got her when I was born, so we grew up together. When she passed, I realized I had a huge place in my heart for animals. This triggered my interest in the veterinary field. I recieved my AAS in Animal Science from Hawkeye Community College and continued an Animal Science BA at Iowa State University for a year. Although my love and interest in the veterinary field is still in full bloom, my career path has taken a turn into Elementary Education. I will be starting at UNI within the next year. I hope to use my continuing knowledge of animals in the classroom. One thing I'm incredibly passionate about is, 'Adopt, Don't Shop.' Rescued will always be my favorite breed. I have done a lot to help this cause. I have rescued, and been rescued, by five amazing, sweet cats, two rats, and one dog. My kitties include Luna (4.5 years old), Eva (passed away of FeLV at 10 months old), Alice and Owen (1.5 years old), and most recently Ellie (8 weeks old and pictured). My sweet two rats, Norah and Nellie passed away from cancer this year and my alaskan malamute, Pericles, passed away of old age last year. Although it's devastating losing a beloved pet, I will never stop rescuing animals! They are, have been, and will always be the light of my life.
